Commercial Glass Service

Design-Assist & Bid

Glazing that goes smoothly starts before a single pane is fabricated. We work with general contractors, owners, and architects across Ohio from early plans through punch list — hard-bid or negotiated, with one point of contact the whole way through.

One glazing contractor, from plans to punch list

Glazing scope touches structural, thermal, and code requirements at once, and it's usually one of the trickiest packages to bid and coordinate on a commercial job. Bringing a glazing contractor in early — before the bid set is finalized — catches problems on paper instead of in the field, where they cost real time and money to fix.

Atwood Glass has bid, fabricated, and installed commercial glazing across Ohio since 1994. We work both design-assist and hard-bid, and because our own crew handles fabrication and installation, the person who priced the job is accountable for how it actually goes together.

How we work with your team

  • Design-assist — reviewing glazing scope early with architects and owners to flag issues before they're locked into drawings.
  • Hard-bid & negotiated work — competitive bids on plan-and-spec projects, and negotiated pricing when brought in early.
  • Submittals & shop drawings — coordinated and turned around promptly so they don't hold up the schedule.
  • Project management — one point of contact tracking the glazing scope from award through closeout.
  • Punch list follow-through — closeout items handled without chasing down a subcontractor who's moved on to the next job.

A glazing contractor you can plan around

GCs and owners need a glazing partner who shows up when they say they will and communicates when something changes. We keep the same crew and the same point of contact on a project from bid through installation, so there's no re-explaining scope to a new face halfway through the job.

Common Questions

Design-Assist & Bid FAQ

Do you bid hard-bid plan-and-spec projects, or only negotiated work?

Both. We regularly bid hard-bid plan-and-spec projects and also work design-assist and negotiated pricing when we're brought in earlier in the process.

Can you get involved before the drawings are finalized?

Yes — that's what design-assist means in practice. Bringing us in while glazing scope is still being drawn lets us flag sightline, thermal, and constructability issues before they're locked into the bid set.

Who handles submittals and shop drawings?

We coordinate submittals and shop drawings directly with the design team and turn them around promptly so glazing doesn't become the item holding up the schedule.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Mineral City in Tuscarawas County and bid work across Ohio — New Philadelphia, Dover, Canton, Massillon, Akron, and beyond. See our service area.

Have a glazing package to bid?

Send the plans and spec section, or call to talk through the scope before it's finalized.
